In theory, if you are running lean, the burn (or explosion) is hotter than a stoichiometric burn, which could definitely put more heat into a radiator than it was spec'ed to handle and thus, raise temperatures. But eventually you'd melt a valve or seat which is less than desirable. This less than desirable burn would make power for a short time, but not be good in the long run.
