I've always wanted to do something like this, and I try sometimes, but I'm never consistent. It's awesome you keep a log.

There are multiple ways of doing it, but I just made a habit of texting the information to my email address as I'm standing at the pump. So I send a text that looks like:
totalmileage...CurrentTankMileage.....pricepergall on...gallons...totalprice
I use the ... between because that keeps my phone keyboard from switching back to alpha between numbers. I do it in that order because the first two are done in the car, and the last three are done while standing at the pump.
my last one was
42566...361.0...3.899...11.314...44.11
I used to do only totalmileage gallons and pricepergallon but found the currenttankmileage and total price as a good checksum in case I fat finger something.
A lot of folks use Fuelly.com for it, but I just never could get around to it. My method is simple and I can move it into a spreadsheet once or twice a month when I have a few minutes.
