You would need a tow hook either in the front or rear, depending on what end of the car needs to be towed (especially onto a flatbed). There's no difference for the drivetrain if your car is in neutral.

I can swap between tow hook & license plate on the Raceseng setup in about 60 seconds, once it's properly set up.

Edit: I should add that for towing purposes, the factory one works fine. I went with Raceseng because I had specific needs (tow + license plate + GoPro)

Towing the car off a track, off a road, on a road, onto a flatbed, and otherwise moving the car while it is immobilized. It's not solely for track use.
