Compare it with an jpeg-picture. If it is really small and you are enlarging it via photoshop - the quality gets worse. Thats also customizable, but it is not getting better.
You canīt use an Equalizer as you wish without generating distortion or clipping. A little bit is okay, about 3db perhaps. Normally an Equalizer is not used to make the signal of a bad Headunit better, it is used to eliminate reflections from the windows or absorptions from the doors etc. If you already have a but signal at the beginning, the outgoing signal from the speakers will be much more worse.
But i will do further tests and i already mailed Will. He said the frequency response is linear - it is not, so my unit must be broken ;-)
I will do further tests, also measuring when the Headunit is clipping.
