@Chen is spot on. It's worth a visit to graze the food carts then work it off walking around town. Portland is famous for them with over 400 featuring menus from around the world. Here's an area of the city where they're packed in for a couple of blocks (scroll around).

I ate my way around a food cart competition last weekend. Exotic, authentic, ethnic eats at reasonable prices. The winner looked like a humble waffle until you tasted it and then read about how they're made. Yeah, Portland is foodie heaven.
