Wow somehow it never occurred to me that the K20 had low specific torque hmm.
The slightly shorter gearing on the Civic probably makes the acceleration about equal.
I am starting to suspect that the low rpm "torque peak" depends on the fuel quality since that is likely a very knock prone range.
