I recently sat in a STi (never have driven a boosted car or wrx to say before) and the first thing I can assertively say is that the steering in the BRZ is SO much better than the 15 STi. Granted, I didn't take it to the back roads because it was a test drive, but nonetheless; the steering feel in the 15 STi feels somewhat lackluster compared to the BRZ. Then again there are a lot of variables that get into hand with this like: maybe I'm not used to the car yet (only drove it for like 10 minutes), haven't / couldn't push the car (the car was 7 miles old lol), and so many other variables. To restate what others said, in the 15 STi, power was definitely there. I accidentally did a slight pull on a freeway ramp and in a couple seconds (where it would take the BRZ a couple seconds to catch up to speed with high way traffic speeds), I went from 20 mph to around 90. If I remember correctly, I did the pull at 3rd gear. Again to restate what I said earlier, the steering feedback feels odd compared to the 86- maybe slightly more negative than the BRZ. The 15 STi is a power monster though! Only thing I regret not doing that day at the dealership was forgetting to ask for a test drive on the new WRX. I think if I did, I'm pretty sure that I would choose the '15 WRX over '15 STi because of it's more economical virtues and etc (it actually produces more torque down low, which is generally where most people spend their RPM's).

In the coming years, I'll probably trade my BRZ in for a WRX Hatch / wagon (pretty freakin' sure Subaru is going to reintroduce 'em cause over 50% of their sales of WRXs are from the Hatches/ wagons) for more practicality.
