Yeah, they shouldn't have any reason to touch the ECU, but I'll probably flash back to stock just to be totally safe.

Is flashing the stock ROM back to the car enough to "un-marry" the OFT from the car, or is there something further I need to do?
Definitely sounds like the screen is out of calibration. So calibrating it in the calibration menu will definitely do the trick. Just make sure you use a stylus for this step so it calibrates properly. From that point onwards, you can use your fingers.

To un-marry the OFT, just flash back to stock first. Then connect the OFT to OF Manager (with WIFI connection) and go to Erase Data and click on START. At that point, your OFT will be like new again and ready for installation in the same (or another) car. That's it
