8.5 wide is a good width for a 225, depends on the tire brand, that'll determine how "stretched" the sidewall will be. 225 on a 8" wide is likely to have a more "flush tire" look to it. However, like i said, it all depends on the tire make/model. They all fit a little differently. A 225 in one brand, can sometimes run wider than even a 235 from another make.

A stretched sidewall is stronger and more resistant to caving, or rolling over, but a more natural fitting relaxed sidewall will have more grip feedback at the limits. you may also have a bit more Curbing protection when parallel parking
Thanks for the response. At this point I'm inclined towards some Enkei options: RPF1, GTC01, RAIJIN, EV5.

RPF1: 18x8 in 35 or 45 offset

RAIJIN: 18x8 in 35 or 45 offset

GTC01: 18x7.5 in 48 offset; 18x8 in 35 or 48 offset

EV5: 18x7.5 in 38 or 45 offset

Any reason (other than looks) to prefer one over the other? And how do I determine which offset is right?
