yea, somewhat false, doesn't need to be..but if you're keeping the STOCK 7" wide wheel, going anything wider won't be a great fit. It would look really bad too.

8.5 wide is a good width for a 225, depends on the tire brand, that'll determine how "stretched" the sidewall will be. 225 on a 8" wide is likely to have a more "flush tire" look to it. However, like i said, it all depends on the tire make/model. They all fit a little differently. A 225 in one brand, can sometimes run wider than even a 235 from another make.

A stretched sidewall is stronger and more resistant to caving, or rolling over, but a more natural fitting relaxed sidewall will have more grip feedback at the limits. you may also have a bit more Curbing protection when parallel parking
