Uh, this wasn't earthquake/tsunami related.
It's about a cargo ship hitting rough seas, and a bunch of cars being shipped that were pretty much totaled. Seems to have happened multiple times in recent years, and after all of the anticipation around this car it would be oddly funny if that were to happen (in a funny/crappy kind of way of course).
But I concur on the tsunami stuff - makes a damaged BRZ seem pretty insignificant.
