I suggest unplugging the OFT, turning off the ignition and starting again. I've seen cases were going straight from datalogging functions to flashing will cause a communication error since the ECU is still stuck in diagnostic/datalogging mode. Turn off the ignition and starting over will sort that out if that is the case.
