If you use your AT in manual and sport mode there should be no issue with turbo it!
If use it full auto with default mode then (depending on the turbo you chose) lag could be an issue. But if you want to have some fun get a passenger, centrifugal sc and default mode, then hit the throttle (WOT) and you have near max boost as soon as the car change gears, then and only then you would see the thing people talk about instant boost
You could also see that if you let the car at 5k with out use of throttle (like engine braking) follow with WOT, be careful on turns and have tons of fun!
