The Auris nameplate was born when they decided that Corolla was too damn boring (before the Auris, Corolla's were sold as hatches in Europe) so they thought to differentiate with the new name. Of course the car was still a Corolla and probably drove like a Corolla so that didn't help its reputation of being dull and boring.
so no its not a yaris, its not even as small as a yaris. Its a Corolla hatchback. doesn't make sense to me to bring that over as a Scion when it can easily replace the Matrix or just be called a Corolla hatch (the interiors are almost identical)
