Oh yea, can't argue with the fact that faster drivers make a car faster, but it ends there. When I see a fast car, its a fast car, not a ok car with a fast driver. I whole heartily agree that on a track, the driver is more important, to a degree.
When my girl pulled away from me at a light in her baby blue turbo Beetle convertible after driving me to pick up my BRZ, I thought "damn this car is kinda slow". Now 5k in mods later I just barely beat her
in a straight line.
I'm just saying, I love my car, but not for the power. I like how it looks, how it handles, how it's fuel efficient, and how it's RWD, in that order. My car is great, but it's not fast, not at all. Maybe it's because of me, I'm just a guy who AutoX regularly and enjoy little red light racing here and there, oh wait, that most of us here
