How about adding wing/spoiler and rear diffuser at the same time? Would there be too much of penalty (air drag)? Maybe I should simply start adding the splitter and diffuser first then take it from there

Rear diffusers, when properly designed, can generate A LOT of downforce for little drag penalty. However, given most street car chassis setups, a proper designed diffuser is near impossible, making them less effective (I am NOT saying they do not work). Wings create massive amounts of drag per pound of downforce. However, they are less vehicle/chassis specific because of their placement and that makes them a more repeatable way to produce downforce.

I would start with underbody aero first, but that's my personal preference.
