Im pretty sure the pid is different to accessing a direct ram address pid is something the manufacturer supplys as part of their obligation to make standard parameters readable by anyone so only certian values are available as pid its also a lot slower pulling pids from ecu maybe twice a second for low number of parameters.

This is fine for temps and say iam but would be way to slow for usefull logging of fast changing engine parameters like fuel trims timing knock like flkc fbkc as these change so fast and can be very short duration

you need about 5 reads a second for good engine parameter logging, with tactrix reading direct ram addresses you will get 20 times as second with about 20 parameters
