That's strange you say that, Lexus usually uses slightly souped up run of the mill engines from the Toyota line. They throw on an electric cam phasing actuator here, some direct injectors there, and then call it a day. AKA, not any harder to mod than a Toyota Sienna or Landcruiser or Camry, and I don't think those take 10k minimum to do anything to. When the RC comes out either they'll use an old engine, or they'll use a new one that will also go into the Camry and whatever soon after.
