Evo X, it'll trash all four of those and the 86 on a track despite being "heavy" and having "awd". Plus, it's very-very easy to make power from it. Low investment in common mods will make significantly more power due to it being Turbo (like the WRX/STI). Plus it has the grip to put said power down. Best handling 40k and less car out there right now new off the lots.

Correct. The shifter in the WRX/STI is a steaming pile. So "bendy" feeling. If you were to buy one I'd option the SPT shifter and some kartboy bushings to tighten it up. The Evo X shifter isn't really that hot either. It's not like the Evo X/IX, which had one of the best feeling shifters out there off the lot new and stock. That's what I was concerned about with the 86's tranny being a Subie and all. Though they went for special help on that case, so it maybe worth something, but I'd take the journalists words on this with a grain of salt. They've stated numerous cars having great shifters, but in the end, they weren't up to par. Hopefully at best you'd just need some bushings for the 86.

In this day and age, people expect more from their money, tis all. The fuel economy isn't that hot in comparison to other cars making more power, and said power isn't up to snuff as well for many.
