I think most of us knew exactly what this car was about and who it was for when we bought it.
Everyday I restrain myself from going into the member journal forum and shi*ting on all the rice builds. Thing is every sporty model manufactured has the "show" crowd. And a huge majority of online speed shops cater to the appearance crowd because its cheaper, higher margain and most of the buyers want uniqueness, to stand out.
When I had my first s2000, all the local guys modified the piss out of their cars most of which could not even drive them to save their lives. But what I learned is even though they pissed away their money many of them did not know any better.
This car reminds me a lot of that scene. When I meet other owners or young guys at events with the car, there is a ton of interest from these guys which I have not seen for a while. The car has attracted a new generation of car enthusiests, but with that of course comes inexperience.
All you can do is try and be an ambassidor for non rice and call people out when you see stupid crap.
