If you are willing to do work yourself, I think you can build a motor for around $3k...supposedly the crank is already forged and the Crawford motor uses the stock crank. You can get the rods for around $800-1000, and forged pistons for around the same pricing. There really isn't a cam option out yet, so no money spent there yet. Upgraded valve springs probably wouldn't hurt though. Also, I believe most people are lowering the compression to 11.5/1 like the the DIT motors.
