That was my reasoning. Anyway, it's a non-trivial amount of money that I think could be factored in to the purchasing decision.

It's three changes actually. $70 seems high for a synth change. I've seen Ford barely charge more than that for Diesels which are synth and a lot more oil. I'd bet Scion is more like 50-60 for a synth change, or 30 for dino oil.
At best 1 tire rotation, so add 50 more.. so you might be at 230. $1,530 is no where near $2,000, and even $1,600 is closer to $1,300 than it is to $2,000. We could just say "around 1500-1600"..
Of course my car would never see the dealer anyways, even for free maintenance.
