Your last sentence I believe is why I would have chose the Subaru in the end. Its really a Subaru with a few select Toyota add-ons. Thus I like having the badge of what I'm actually driving on there. My mind started thinking that way for some reason after owning my first car: Acura Integra. To me I felt a bit stupid for having a Acura badge on a Honda. So for me personally? I like the badge to reflect what the thing actually is! (Also living overseas in the UK and seeing they didn't have to lie to themselves about what they were driving... Then again Lexus was there and Infiniti was starting to make a move into the market...)
