It would be like Ford Motor Company bringing the Mustang out under Lincoln (or Mercury when that was still around). Something just doesn't jive with that, even if it is still the "same" company. Each car brand/division/subsidiary has a different flavor to it. To some, the Scion flavor is revolting compared to Toyota's.
