In my car, I noticed that when the clutch was fully depressed (and the return spring thus fully extended), there was a metal bracket obscuring access to the top pin (to push it out). I had maybe a inch or so of clearance between the passenger side of the pin, and the bracket.

I did the same thing myself, but it was the easiest way to get it out that I could think of. Worked perfectly (and quickly).
