This. Toyota o Canada is just marketing to the high-volume sales, and the enthusiast versions should sell themselves.

Of course off-the-shelf transmissions aren't as fun to talk about, but that doesn't mean that having a widely-used transmission is a bad thing. As I said before, easier to beef up for those looking for lots of power.
Plus, if's not going to be the quickest car on the road anyway - why not have a traditional transmission and more fun?
