which "sports" car are you referring to that used the 1ZZ-FE? The latest gen Celica in any trim except GT-S? At the time there were pro's to both engines, but the 1ZZ was easier to modify. Why not slap a turbo on it? It was possible, unlike the 2ZZ which had a few obstacles to overcome before hand.
