That could be one piece of it. The FBM "shroud" is a fan shroud, not a radiator shroud, it's only going to help you if air is being directed at the radiator surface correctly. The point of ducting/shrouds on the frontside is to make sure air doesn't escape around the radiator. It's all about eliminating gaps around the radiator.
