If you want performance per dollar nothing will beat the Mustang GT with the huge Ford incentives and discounts.

The problem with the Mustang GT is:
- not nearly as drivable in in-climate as the WRX
- backseat is useless. You can comfortably fit 5 people in a WRX
- gas mileage

A Ford Mustang GT is more of a weekend toy car and not nearly as practical as a WRX as a daily driver. The current Ford Mustang chassis also feels really dated vs the new WRX chassis. Sure you can go fast around corners in a Mustang GT but you are going to do it white knuckled vs a WRX.
