I think a twin screw would probably keep the car closest to it's original character - both in throttle response and power.

That said, the turbo does change it.. but not necessarily for the worse. It turns the car into a beast! The biggest thing for me, is when it was stock - I could drive the car really hard on the streets and not really worry too much about breaking too many laws. Now, with the turbo, if I push the car even half as hard I am already doing 3x any speed limit and loud enough for police to hear me a mile away. So, in some ways.. it almost isn't as fun since you can't really drive the car as hard as often (have to go to a track to really appreciate it). But, at the same time, you don't have to..

What's that saying?
"It's more fun to drive a slow car fast than a fast car slow." or something like that.
