edit @ plucas, question for you. Most functional splitters I've seen (observational experience only) have the front blade connected to the bumper via turnbuckles, I assume for support and adjustability. Is that not required with the FT-86SF splitter?

It is not required. The splitter is much more secured to the bumper than most kits. Also along with being more securely mounted, it uses a stiff composite plastic to achieve greater stiffness. However, if the car is going to be seeing excessive speeds on the track, it would be a good idea to add turnbuckles. Most cars never see that speed, so it would not be needed.
