This motor is a freak. It was designed to be turbowed but lower compresion (FA20DIT on the new WRX), yet given high compression pistons and 8 fuel injectors. That combination is proving to be something unheard of.
I also thought 5-6 psi was going to be max... But with the added knock resistance provided by E85, its been holding up pretty good. That does not mean all motors are great and bullteproof, but the failure rate is very low.
