I used to live in colorado, and honestly I would not drive a rwd car if I was still there.
I had a 2006 STI a few years ago, and the engine and acceleration was awesome, all stock. My FR-S is WAY slower, but basically I'm pepping it up to make it drive more how I like it. (Lightwieght drivetrain parts for now, maybe a basic tune.) You'll feel after a few months that Toyota/Subaru were such pussies when they tuned this car. So if you aren't SURE you want the FRS and know EXACTLY what it's about, you might end up getting rid of it pretty soon also.
My STI always pissed me off though b/c it had 300bhp and it couldn't slide around turns, and it had crazy understeer past the limit. I had a 2001 S4 before that with even worse understeer.
So I needed a car like the FRS without understeer. I'd never get it if I lived in a snowy place. But other people said the aids really help a lot so maybe it could work.
