The stock unit is decent, as compared to my old Tacoma truck
...but I've always enjoyed driving a car with a tight, quick shifter so I'm looking at maybe purchasing either the Kartboy or the TRD kit. Count me interested.
I have a different issue to solve though... I'm a big guy and need the leg room with the seat all the way back to be comfortable. So my normal driving position is just a tad too far back to comfortably reach the gear shifter in forward positions (1st, 3rd,5th). I'm only talking about maybe a 1/2" or something. It's not terrible or anything - but it's there nonetheless.
Under normal driving I ride with the seat as far upright as is comfortable... and under spirited driving I just move the seat forward a click and bend my legs more... but I'd prefer if there was an offering for a bolt-on rear offset shifter. (As an old electrician - I'm tempted to just modify the shaft with a rigid bender..)
