Btw, us 'BRZs with a FRS front-end' have the true 86. If you want the pared down FRS to be worth something, go sell it in Japan.
Oh, and I bought the car that had exactly what I wanted right now, not to please someone else or get more resale later. Go figure.

You don't have the true 86 if you own a BRZ. The true 86 is in Japan. You have a Subaru BRZ. Sure, the limited model is as close as you can get to an 86. Yet at the end of the day it's a Subaru BRZ no matter how you break it down. The OP was not mentioning anything about the car in terms of it being a 'true 86'. He was mentioning the drop in resale value. And what are all those issues you are talking about? If you have a 13/14 MY there is nothing different about them in terms of FRS/BRZ/86. All are made at Fuji Industries in Japan. There may be quirky people out there in the future that may want an FRS for more nostalgic reasons. Now that the RS and Monogram are out. They are closer to the 'true 86' like your BRZ. Glad you are not out to please people with your purchase. Could care less if you did. The OP was not mentioning that either. Again, just talking about resale value dropping.
