I thought I nailed the left front on my way out of my parking garage the first day I took the car to work. The rubber scraping against the barrier around the garage card swipe machine was loud and I thought I may have heard a bit of metal-against-concrete. All the way home, I was tempted to stop in the middle of traffic and jump out to see how bad it was. But the knowledge that I couldn't change it kept me sane enough to get home in one piece.

When I got home & jumped out of the car, I saw what looked like 6" of BAAAD curb rash and got that awful feeling we all know and love. Fortunately, I grabbed a paper towel and gently tried to gauge how deeply I'd damaged it.....and I discovered that it was all paint and gook that must have been on the barrier. It all came off, leaving a gently scuffed tire on an undamaged rim (and some gradually diminishing adrenalin shakes on an upset me). A few more minutes with wheel cleaner and tire dressing and I was good to go - and a lot more careful!
