I'm sure you lose a little, especially if you are in an arid environment. However, the amount should be negligible. I'd be surprised if evaporation through that hole exceeded a gallon per year.

If you are losing fluid, you may have a slow leak somewhere. Just keep an eye on fluid levels and top off when necessary.
