My wife used to get them at least once a year. She would rather do childbirth than kidney stones and she was in labor for 17 hours. She also drinks stupid amounts of water. What made her finally stop getting them was reading about bad water contributing to them (the water here sucks) and that not getting enough calcium apparently can trigger the body to horde the stuff (this obviously only works when you have calcium stones). So now she only drinks bottled water or water run through a high quality filter and takes a calcium supplement. She hasn't had one in 4 or 5 years. The last one was so impressive the doctor asked if he could keep it. Looked like the freaking asteroid from Armagedon. I got pulled over doing 95 in a 65 rushing her to the hospital. The cop took one look at her face, told me to slow down and sent us on our way. Not even a written warning.
