A quick update:

I finished all my electronics and did some testing. The charging and unichip control system are working great and I'm very happy with them.

I did start testing the compressor on the car and initially it worked great. No numbers to report because I was having some issues with data logging. After a hand full of tests of the compressor my motor/compressor shaft coupling failed (slipped) allowing the compressor wheel to come into contact with the compressor housing.

I haven't done a post mortum yet, but the damage looks minor. The coupling will need to be redesigned. I was trying to go with an easy to replicate system that required very little machining but clearly the forces involved are just too great for the design I used. Please keep that in mind for those of you thinking of designing various different geared systems. This is a lot of power being applied to a very compact package.

I've been spending a lot of my free time working on this for the past couple of weeks. I think I'm going to put it aside for a little while while I rethink my compressor design. Right now I'm enjoying the car so much as it is now that the weather is getting nice again.
