Yes, insuring your car for a track day costs a bit of money. Note that your premium would have covered you for April 28-29 if you were staying for both days. The 9-event package is where the per-day price really starts to drop.

Still, paying $155 in case your car is seriously damaged or totaled is not a bad deal compared to coming up with $25K or so to replace the car. Nevertheless, most drivers don't bother with it, and it's unusual for a car to sustain serious damage at a DE.
