As an aging audiophile with loud music, concerts, and a lifetime of gunfire, my high frequency hearing is definitely down many D.B.'s.

I can still hear the crickets though - on other cars.
My FRS has been cricket free since day one (ESSO 91 for a few months then SHELL V-Power since).
