According to Motor Trend magazine the 2013 Subaru BRZ is capable of running from 0-60 mph in 6.4 seconds. This result is far from the 7.3 seconds Edmund's Inside Line recently published leaving a difference of almost a full second.
Edmunds explained that the reason for their slow time is due to hitting the BRZ's rev limiter in second gear at 59.2 mph requiring a shift to third gear. However, Motor Trend reports no such anomalies in performing the test.
It is quite possible that both testing teams used different methodologies in obtaining their times as well as experiencing varying environmental conditions, but Motor Trend still managed a quarter mile pass of 14.9 seconds at 95.5 mph while Edmunds recorded 15.3 seconds at 92.1 mph.
