Perhaps Toyota kind of failed in saying the 86 will be an affordable sports car. Affordable is different in anyone's book but Toyota not saying we are aiming the 86 to be just as good as the S2000 (for arguments sake), it opens the world up to all sorts of thinking which is were we stand today.
Had Toyota stated affordable sports car = to or better then S2000 (for example or insert your own choice) all of a sudden affordable sports car takes on a whole different meaning 2-3yrs ago, and for us Aussie 40k sounds better. We have nothing to judge against except for our own choices.
Affordable sport car with a very low COG is about all i remember Toyota saying. Maybe i need to revisit some old reports.
