Has far as the hatchback, people bitch moan, and complain about rattles and squeaks now, can you imagine a 1 year old hatch FRS? If you want a hatch go for a Golf, with RWD the driveshaft and final drive kinda get in the way. I'm glad its a coupe (but to be fair I have a Yaris and couldn't/wouldn't trade it in.)
