I strongly suggest you build a relationship with the dealer service department first.

In the end, it's simple:

Legit warranty work = free money for the dealer, they'll take this all day every day.

Denied warranty work = improper dealer training, improper diagnosis, improper mechanic work, prior experience with "modded car bad customers", bad customer to dealer communication, dealer bias towards modified cars, or just a shady customer claiming warranty work for something not covered

Either way, you have to take a step back and look at it from the dealer's view. They service you, but they also have procedures to follow from the manufacturer to provide a service (and get reimbursed for it).

Build a relationship with a dealer first.
