with the 86, it looks like we are getting the JDM G (our GT) and GT Limited (our GTS). G sells for 2.41M and GT Limited sells for 2.97M (both excludes tax). converted AUD is around $28k and $35k. spec seems to be pretty similar between JDM and AUDM. so in a way, i don't know how Toyota can justify $10k extra if our prices ended up to be $38k/45k + ORC.
+1

I said this ages ago, if its not below 30k dont bring it in, it will fail, but i was flamed and suggested i dont belong in intelligent conversations.

Now we all know direct conversions between countries and other models is a good starting point (except a few models) for an estimate and Nardi your sums are correct as i had worked them out a while ago hence my "not over 30k" comment.

We as humans in the western world are mostly emotional shoppers as apposed to logical shoppers and companies prey on this mind set and the price will be set accordingly.

Once your inlove with something its hard to say no or we talk ourselves into it and pay for it later, so easy to get money these days companies are making bucket loads on the mind set of emotional shopping and top up the price 10-20% (my last place of employment we had 300%) simply because we cant or find it hard to say no.

As you suggest Nardi, how will Toyota Aus explain given todays economic condition 10-15k difference.

Ill most likely not buy a 86, not straight away atleast (and to think in the beginning i was planing to buy 2 of them), but unless the base is around 30-32k i wont be buying.

In the end thou it is hard to say anything really untill the car it released and people start giving their personal opinion rather then relying on Jorno's.
