It is bad for the platform, it will get better but a long road ahead. I was under the impression that the installer custom tuned the car. Sounds like a vacuum leak which a custom tuner would catch. But at idle you can be dry lean and not blow a short block. Its when you step on the gas from 19:1 idle that you have trouble.
Its unconceivable to me to have an average joe mechanic install a kit like this on a built motor no less.
All I'm saying is TODAY average "wanna boost" should get a conservative kit with a well tested proven base map (CARB cert or pending is a good sign) and stick to 8 psi.
Too many stories of people jumping right into high boost and I think its a mistake unless you live near an FA20 expert shop.
Just trying to help people.
Edit: And no I never said FI is bad for this engine, its awesome at low-moderate levels, high levels built motors its too early for people to jump into.
