I don't suppose you've tried pairing it with an external 10Hz GPS? This looks like it could make a nice track timer if it can pair with the Qstarz or Garmin GPS.

Honestly, I haven't had any real issues with it not responding - im fairly certain that was because I wasn't fully hitting the screen while talking and videoing the radio
I have noticed the hardware home, back, and menu buttons are faster to respond... no idea why though.
I haven't tried any other GPS units - but it is a pretty standard adapter it seems. That said, the included one is pretty beefy and locks instantly.
