Add my BRZ has having this issue. It's quite noticeable with the push start since I'm used to pushing, waiting for 2 cranks, then setting off. These longer cranks are like 4-6 cranks before the engine will cough to life.
It sounds kinda like what my older coworkers would describe as vapor lock on a carbureted car.
