Unless it's a turbo or comes with a digital gauge like the GTR, do you see any benefit from adding extra gauges?

Well, I guess there's no way for me to know for sure if the engine was ever rebuilt, but my honest guess would be no. I bought it 6 years ago with 153k on it and it had (Rather, still has) a slight valve tap to it. The guy I bought it from got it from a local police auction (for $250), who said they found it abandoned on the side of the interstate, with the radio missing and the ignition fubar'd (stolen obviously). The likelihood that the 4A in my car was rebuilt when it only had 153k on it is probably very slim. If left in stock form they're just as reliable as any other Toyota engine from the time period....ok, cept maybe the 20R...but what is? Anywhooo...
I'll probably toss a Vacuum gauge in my FT.
